Hello, and welcome to R.A.Matheson's website. This space is a portal for all of my creative outlets including my music, my poetry, my novels, essays, and other writings. I am sure you will find something you like, whether it is poetry, prose, philosophical essays, discussions about atheism, or my music.
Here's a little bit about me. I graduated high school in 1995, and spent a few years doing data entry, singing in a band, and DJing at raves. I joined the Air Force in 1999 and got out late January of 2005. I'm glad to be out as it didn't go well with my pacifist philosophy. I was in a much different place in my life and personal philosophy when I joined.
I've been writing short stories since I was about seven, and writing poetry since I was about fourteen. I've been involved in making music since the age of about seventeen. As far as musical tastes go, I listen to everything from classical to death metal. I feel that this is reflected in my music, which ranges from quiet piano pieces and ambient soundscapes, to loud industrial/electronic noise.
